After almost six years at the Royal College of Nursing (the last two and a half as Senior Infrastructure Architect) the time has come to move on to pastures new. I’ve loved working with such a talented team of professionals (David Collins, Wayne Shadrach, Richard Thompson, Mark Whalley, and Darren Latter), and the leadership of Geoff Lewis (Technical Operations Manager) and Huw Bevan (IT Operations Manager) has been an inspiration since day one.
I’ve been lucky enough to have led on a number of exciting projects over the years, and my sincerest thanks to all at the RCN for the opportunities, the friendships (which don’t end here), and the amazing memories. The RCN will always hold a special place in my heart.
So, Where Next?
The next chapter will see me joining the brilliant team at Xtravirt as a Senior Consultant specialising in VMware NSX. Xtravirt are a big player in the world of the SDDC; a leading cloud consultancy specialising in VMware technologies and solutions, Xtravirt help customers across the UK and EMEA to accelerate and de-risk their digital transformation. Not only are Xtravirt a VMware Master Services Competency Partner in several competencies (Cloud Management and Automation, Data Center Virtualization, Digital Workspace, and Network Virtualization), but were also awarded the Global VMware Partner Innovation Award in the Professional Services category in 2018.
‘[The Xtravirt team], passionate technologists who love to collaborate and get the best, always, for the customer.’
Gavin Jolliffe – Chief Executive Officer, Xtravirt
I’m really excited to be starting this new journey, and look forward to helping and enabling customers to overcome their business and technical challenges. I’ll get to work on the bleeding edge of a number of VMware product stacks, as well as further developing my knowledge in not just VMware NSX but a range of new areas.
Lastly, I’m excited at the opportunity of working with such a fantastic team of consultants, many of whom I’ve admired for some time (Simon Eady, Steve Wood, Michal Grzeszczak, Gareth Hogarth, Curtis Brown, Graham Smith, James Kilby, Chris Shaw…to name just a few!)
Here’s to the next chapter!
